Retinal Thickness and Microvascular Pattern in Early Parkinson's Disease.

A thinning of intraretinal layers has been previously described in Parkinson's disease (PD) patients compared to healthy controls (HCs). Few studies evaluated the possible correlation between retinal thickness and retinal microvascularization. Thus, here we assessed the thickness of retinal layers and microvascular pattern in early PD patients and HCs, using, respectively, spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) and SD-OCT-angiography (SD-OCT-A), and more interestingly, we evaluated a possible correlation between retinal thickness and microvascular pattern. Visualization of corneal vascularization in peripheral hypertrophic subepithelial corneal opacification with OCT angiography.

Purpose The major goal of this study was to test the hypothesis that in patients with peripheral hypertrophic subepithelial corneal opacification (PHSCO), visualization of corneal vessels is better with optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) than with conventional slit lamp microphotography. Methods Patients with PHSCO were included in this prospective study. ECG-gated multislice computed tomography angiography as a comprehensive non-invasive imaging tool in patient with aortic coarctation

We describe a case of a 52-year-old-woman with aortic coarctation demonstrated by means of 40-slice MSCT angiography. Based on the information extracted from MSCT it was possible to display the anatomical configuration of the disease, the thoraco-abdominal collateral pathways. The best therapeutic approach was established on the basis of MSCT findings. MSCT is a reliable and comprehensive tool for the assessment of adult patients with aortic coarctation. Glioblastoma is a highly angiogenetic malignancy, the neoformed vessels of which are thought to arise by sprouting of pre-existing brain capillaries. The recent demonstration that a population of glioblastoma stem-like cells (GSCs) maintains glioblastomas indicates that the progeny of these cells may not be confined to the neural lineage. Statins inhibit HMG-CoA reductase by competitively inhibiting the active site of the enzyme, thus preventing cholesterol synthesis and reducing the risk of developing cardiovascular disease. Many pleiotropic effects of statins have been demonstrated that can be either related or unrelated to their cholesterol-lowering ability. Among these effects are their proangiogenic and antiangiogenic properties that could offer new therapeutic applications. Objective: The current pulp diagnostic techniques based on subjective patient response to electrical or thermal stimuli are unable to assess tooth vascularization, which is a true indicator of pulp vitality. The present study evaluates thermography as a pulp vitality test, assessing tooth recovery following thermal stimulation. Methods: A model simulating intrapulpal circulation was developed. The relation between tumor cell proliferation and vascularization in differentiated and undifferentiated colon carcinomas in the rat.

Tumor cell proliferation and tumor vascularization were investigated in differentiated and undifferentiated colon carcinomas of the rat.
